Pale from Infinite Session mixes six malts and several varieties of American hops along with some oats to deliver a glorious deep coloured craft-style beer with a fruity aroma. I still can’t believe it’s only 0.5% ABV.
Pale, an American Pale Ale was launched in February 2018, by Tom and Chris Hannaway of Infinite Session. It was the first beer that they brewed in the Infinite Session Brewery at Sambrook’s Brewery in Battersea, London. There is one other Infinite Session Beer and an Infinite Session lager too.
What does Infinite Session American Pale Ale taste like?
The American Pale from Infinite Sessions has a refreshing, bitter flavour. It’s brewers describe the APA as “juicy and tropical, and designed to taste like your favourite craft beer. And it does. At its’ double dry-hopped it is full-bodied and full of taste. You’ll get an initial aroma of malt and of tropical fruit. This alcohol-free pale ale even smells like a regular beer. The mouthfeel is of full body and the American hops bring out a further tropical fruit flavour. It’s a seriously rich and rounded flavour. If you want to try just ONE alcohol-free beer and you like craft ale, APA’s and IPA’s, then this is your one.

Pale from Infinite Session is an amber colour. Likely slightly darker than most alcoholic pale ales you’ve drunk, with a white modestly sized head.
Ingredients in Infinite Session Pale Ale
Pale combines six grains with the tropical American Simcoe, Citra and Mosaic hops. The 0.5% ABV beer is double dry-hopped to give it a full body. (Double dry hopping means adding hops after fermentation on two different days – this gives a greater depth of flavour and aroma). The recipe was changed in 2019 to remove lactose and therefore Infinite Session Pale is vegan friendly.
How is Infinite Session Pale made?
The Infinite Session brewing process is very similar to how regular alcoholic beers are brewed. (Read here about the different methods of brewing alcohol-free beer). They say they make several changes along the way to give get the appropriate body and flavour into the beer, brewing to a maximum 0.5% ABV. They do not remove anything from their beer. There are no boiling off or alcohol removal techniques used here.

Final Words on Infinite Session Pale
This truly is a spectacular fully bodied, great-tasting alcohol-free American Pale Ale. It’s hoppy, has a fabulous aroma and will have you seriously considering ditching some alcoholic craft beers to drink it instead. It’s that good. You won’t miss the alcohol at all with this beer from Infinite Session. My choice for “if I could drink only one beer”.
